Start (and finish) writing your life stories in 12 parts.

Simply. Memorably.

Welcome to 12 Stories.

Who was your first love?

What’s a place that holds special meaning for you?

Who’s a family member you wish you could have met?

Whether you’re 25, 65 or 105 years old, your life stories — good, bad, funny, and sad — are the evidence of a unique life.

And it’s only by sharing those stories that others have the chance to truly know and understand you.

Do you want:

Whether it’s creating life stories for yourself or as a gift for a loved one, you’re in the right place.

12 Stories is a simple 12-week project designed to make writing your life stories enjoyable and achievable. At the end of that time, you’ll have a precious collection of 12 stories.

The stories of you.

12 Stories is such an excellent method to help remember my experiences and put them into words. Now I can share my stories with the people that are close to my heart. Thank you.

I was given the 12 Stories project as a gift and loved it. The weekly prompts are super easy to follow and I ended up reminiscing about things I hadn't thought about in such a long time. It's such a lovely way to document life stories.

Being in my late 70s, 12 Stories was just what I needed. The weekly prompts brought back memories I hadn't thought of in years, making the writing process a pleasure. This project has been a joy and my family loves the digital collection the team at 12 Stories collated for me.

Going through some of the biggest changes in my life, 12 Stories was the perfect way for me to sit and reflect on everything in a way that I may not have otherwise! I loved having thought-provoking prompts that helped me take the time to write my life story.

It’s my first year working full-time and there have been some pretty big changes in my life. 12 Stories has given me a chance to pause and reflect. I’ve loved the weekly emailed topics and support materials – they’ve helped keep me on track with the project – and I’ve loved the variety of topics too.

I'd often thought about writing my life story for my children and grandchildren, but the task seemed overwhelming. 12 Stories made it so manageable. After receiving the first week's topic and support materials, story ideas came really easily. Thanks for helping bring my stories to life!

I’ve taken a gap year and the 12 Stories project has been amazing. It’s helped me get into a little routine each week and definitely given me a chance to reflect on what’s happened so far in my life!

Benefits:

Life stories 1
Stories have to be told or they die, and when they die, we can’t remember who we are or why we’re here.

How it works

Each week:

Receive weekly email

Receive 'Writing Kit' - with the topic for the week and all support resources.

Brainstorm ideas

Use 'Prompts' to brainstorm possible writing ideas for the topic. Choose the idea you like best.

Write your story

Use the chosen idea, write in detail (guided by example/s, sentence starters and practical tips).

Source photos

Choose and scan photo/s to act as visual support to the story you've written.

Save and repeat

Save your work (and get excited for next week's topic). Repeat each week for 12 weeks.

After 12 weeks:

collate and share your 12 Stories

At the end of the 12 weeks, use the ‘Guide to Collating and Publishing’ to decide on how you’ll share your ‘12 Stories’ collection, including access to our FREE digital booklet collation service.

As a sneak peek, weekly topics include:
Week 1 - Time, Week 2 - Place, and Week 6 - Childhood
(just 3 of the 12 – we've carefully curated the topics to ensure you have the chance to reflect on all aspects of your life across the 12 categories).

It’s up to you when you write and, if you fall behind (life isn’t always predictable!), just revisit the materials when it suits. You have lifetime access!
